cHiPSet STSM – 1st Call Results

We have finished the first call for STSM grants in the 3rd Grant Period. In that first call  (June 2017) fifteen applicants submitted their forms, and the following eleven have been accepted: Olivera Novovic, Fátima Leal, Piotr Szuster, Andrzej Wilczyński, Elli Rapti, Eirini Koilanioti, Adriana Chis, Agnieszka Jakobik, Grażyna Suchacka, Ana Respicio, Mauro Iacono. The final amounts founded appear in the next table, which sum a total of 17.000 EUR. The remaining budget is 8.000 EUR for the 2nd Call.


cHiPSet at the Workshop on HPC I/O

On June 22nd, 2017, Clemens Grelck, cHiPSet scientific coordinator, presented our COST Action at ISC High Performance, the 32nd Annual Super Computing Conference at Frankfurt (Main), Germany. With more than 450 speakers and more than 3200 attendees ISC High Performance is one of the largest events of its kind in the world. cHiPSet Training School #2 – Info and Call for Trainees

cHiPSet is promoting a Training School on Big Data Processing and Analytics in the Internet of Everything Era, that will take place in Novi Sad, Serbia from 20 to 22 September, 2017. Trainers coming from academia and industry will provide presentations with detailed descriptions of the selected data and applications, as well as hands on experience in leveraging big data frameworks on real world problems. cHiPSet at ISC HPC 2017 Exhibition

cHiPSet was presented this year at ISC HPC Exhibition . This is the result of our collaboration with HiPEAC. We werer invited to share their exhibition booth at Frankfurt. Many thanks to Sabri Pllana for making it possible and Xavier Salazar- HiPEAC Recruitment Officer, Madeleine Gray and Anna Molinet – HiPEAC Communications for their company and kind support in the preparation of our presentation. cHiPSet Chair with Anna … again… ..now with Xavier.. ..our working place. We had 30+ visitors during  3 hours who asked us about the Action details and took our leaflets and promotional materials.

Industry Dissemination Event – Dublin – 18th May 2017

Dr. Horacio González-Vélez, Vice Chair of cHiPSet and Associate Professor at National College of Ireland and Dave Feenan, Industry Dissemination Co-Ordinator for cHiPSet, the two Irish representatives in the Cost Action IC1406, hosted an industry focused seminar in Dublin on Thursday May 18th 2017. Attracting a registered attendee audience of 59 people, predominately drawn from industry, Dr. González-Vélez provided insight into the arena of data-intensive modelling and simulation and how they assist industry today. cHiPSet goes Hungarian at ECMS’17

As a result of a successful academic collaboration with the European Council on Modelling and Simulation (ECMS), cHiPSet members ran the High Performance Modeling and Simulation (HIPMOS) track at the 31st edition of the annual ECMS conference held in Budapest on 23-26 May 2017.
