The session slot is planned for October 26, 2017 , 14:00 – 15:30h. The  session will highlight challenges and opportunities of Big Data in mobility and transport from perspectives of multiple disciplines (such as the computer science, logistics, and transportation). Dear cHiPSet Members, The 26th Euromicro International Conference on Parallel, Distributed, and Network-Based Processing (PDP 2018), will be held at the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge, Cambridge UK, March 21-23 2018. The conference welcomes papers in the field of High Performance Computing for Modelling and Simulation, which is a hot topic for our cost action. cHiPSet Training School in Novi Sad

Dear Action Members, The cHiPSet Training School on Big Data Processing and Analytics in the Internet of Everything Era was hosted in Novi Sad, Serbia. The school was organized by cHiPSet training school team and locally supported by BioSense Institute and Faculty of Sciences. It was a nice experience and great event of the Action. The training school presented more intertwined connections between HPC frameworks and specific data intensive domains and applications. cHiPSet at COST CONNECT in Brussels

The European Commission’s DG Connect and COST organized on 12 and 13 September 2017 an interactive workshop on the Next Generation Internet (NGI). The organizers aimed to  bring together stakeholders working on this topic. cHiPSet has been represented by the Action Chair – Joanna Kolodziej – and Sabri Pllana after receiving the personal invitations from Cost Assotiation and European Comission. New Cost activity – ITC conference grants

Dear cHiPSet Members, All running Cost actions received addditional money in the budget for starting a new activity – Conference Grants. From the concept, being the new Cost tool  Conference Grants  “are aimed at supporting PhD students and ECI researchers from Participating ITC Countries to attend international science and technology related conferences not specifically organised by the COST Action” (COST Vademecum, May 2017). cHiPSet STSM – 1st Call Results

We have finished the first call for STSM grants in the 3rd Grant Period. In that first call  (June 2017) fifteen applicants submitted their forms, and the following eleven have been accepted: Olivera Novovic, Fátima Leal, Piotr Szuster, Andrzej Wilczyński, Elli Rapti, Eirini Koilanioti, Adriana Chis, Agnieszka Jakobik, Grażyna Suchacka, Ana Respicio, Mauro Iacono. The final amounts founded appear in the next table, which sum a total of 17.000 EUR. The remaining budget is 8.000 EUR for the 2nd Call.

cHiPSet at the Workshop on HPC I/O

On June 22nd, 2017, Clemens Grelck, cHiPSet scientific coordinator, presented our COST Action at ISC High Performance, the 32nd Annual Super Computing Conference at Frankfurt (Main), Germany. With more than 450 speakers and more than 3200 attendees ISC High Performance is one of the largest events of its kind in the world. Among others ISC High Performance is world famous for the publication of the summer edition of the TOP-500 list of most powerful high performance computing systems. cHiPSet is promoting a Training School on Big Data Processing and Analytics in the Internet of Everything Era, that will take place in Novi Sad, Serbia from 20 to 22 September, 2017. Trainers coming from academia and industry will provide presentations with detailed descriptions of the selected data and applications, as well as hands on experience in leveraging big data frameworks on real world problems. cHiPSet at ISC HPC 2017 Exhibition

cHiPSet was presented this year at ISC HPC Exhibition . This is the result of our collaboration with HiPEAC. We werer invited to share their exhibition booth at Frankfurt. Many thanks to Sabri Pllana for making it possible and Xavier Salazar- HiPEAC Recruitment Officer, Madeleine Gray and Anna Molinet – HiPEAC Communications for their company and kind support in the preparation of our presentation. cHiPSet Chair with Anna … again… with Xavier.. ..our working place. We had 30+ visitors during  3 hours who asked us about the Action details and took our leaflets and promotional materials.
