Dear cHiPSet Members, This years Supercomputing conference (SC17) was held Nov. 12-17 in Denver, Colorado, USA. SC is the premier conference in the area of High Performance Computing with more than 10.000 participants from all over the world. The dominating themes were the convergence of HPC and Big Data technologies as well as Deep Learning facilitated by new generations of extremely powerful GPUs and other types of special purpose hardware. On Tuesday, November 7, 2017  cHiPSet was promoted at the session “Digital Transformation: Informatics Systems Industry Timeliness”. That  session was promoted by the Portuguese Engineers Association (“Ordem dos Engenheiros”), taking the opportunity that the CHipSet meeting was being hosted by this association together with FCT/UNL.
