It is our pleasure to announce that cHiPSet will be presented at ISIN Seminar organized in Dublin on May 18, 2017. This seminar is organized by Horacio Gonzalez-Velez and Dave Feenan.  The emerging trends on “High-Performance Modelling and Simulation for Big Data Applications” will be discussed under the umbrella of cHiPSet http://chipset-cost.eu/ , a multinational innovative COST Action. The main aim of that event is to highlight the Action programme and activities for the ICT industrial  partners. Many thanks to Horacio and Dave.

A special issue on “HPC-enabled Modelling for Big Data Problems in Life, Socio-Economical and Physical Sciences” is being prepared with contributions by the action members in the Springer journal Data Science and Engineering. The submission deadline is May 15, 2017. We thank the WG3 and WG4 leaders for making it possible.

Dear Action Members, We are happy to announce that the SIMPAT Special Section we recently worked on is finished and will be published in Volume number 76 of the journal, which will be compiled on 2nd June, 2017 with cover date as August 2017. Dr Sabri Pllana is a Keynote Speaker at UCER 2017 Workshop, where our Action will be presented. The main organizer of the workshop is Prof. Jesus Careterro – the Chair of the NESUS Action. cHiPSet Action has a new officer – Communication Representative (CR) . The Action Vice-Chair – dr Horacio Gonzalez-Velez has been elected to serve as CR-cHiPSet 🙂 by MC during the meeting in Palermo. Congratulations!!! Together with the COST Communications Officer, Silvia Alexe (Silvia.Alexe@cost.eu), Horacio will work on the dissemination  the Action’s communications activities and oranization of plans/ideas (events, interviews, media relations, press releases, success stories etc.).  Silvia, together with her team,  will be helping to share the Action’s activities and results. She will also organise trainings on media relations and science communications.

Dear Action Members, The last MC meeting in the second Grant Period (2GP) was held in Palermo. We summarize all the Action activities and discussed the plans for the 3rd Grant Period. We would like to thank Salvatore Vitabile for wonderful hospitality. We had a great time there.           

The Action Chair – Prof. Joanna Kolodziej – represented cHiPSet at the bilateral meeting with ETP4HPC representatives in Brussels during the Study visit  on “Big Data for transformation into Industry 4.0” on  21st – 22nd March 2017. We would like to collaborate with ETP4HPC as a communication channel to allow the access of the cHiPSet partners (especially companies) to join ETP4HPC and be active at the pletform.
